Five things First time Home Buyers should know and Do

Posted by Barry Evans in Chattanooga TN Real Estate

1.      The first step in buying a home is to know your buying power.   This first step is vital to any home buyer but especially a first time buyer.  Know what you can afford.  Especially in the Hixson, Chattanooga area this is vital information.  Real Estate prices and market have been stable.  With the market recovering the first time home buyer will want to buy the most house they can comfortably afford.  The average stay in any home is five years.  First time buyers will probably stay a shorter time.  Therefore they should consider buying the most they can afford.  How can you know what you can afford?  Get pre approved.  This is a easy step when you visit our website www.chattanoogahomes.com and click on the Realty Funding icon.  It‘s all on line and simple.

Chattanooga market for property investment is still good

Posted by Barry Evans in Chattanooga TN Real Estate

The Chattanooga market for property investment is still good in spite of what the real estate nay sayers are telling us.  This year one of my investors made over $100,000 on two properties.  Though many of the North Chattanooga properties are pricey there are still some diamonds in the rough.  The Hixson area also offers some excellent opportunities.  Soddy Daisy will present some excellent opportunities. Bargains can be picked up in the Brainerd area.  Real estate investments are still a great way to build wealth in the Chattanooga area.

What’s All the Hub…Bub?

Posted by Barry Evans in Chattanooga TN Real Estate

Surely Chattanooga has enough activities and events to keep one happily involved on a regular basis, but sometimes the “need to run away from home” comes upon the soul.

Did you know that there are several get-away day trips within a 2.5 hour mile radius that would prove to be entertaining and educational? Georgia and Alabama, too.

One popular area is Nashville, TN. Nashville (and surrounding areas) provide history, music and exceptional cuisine.  The Opryland Hotel, is a whole experience in itself.  Exquisite gardens, waterways, all inside,  and from there you can take transportation to tour the stars’ homes. Cheekwood Gardens and Golf Club offers the same. Downtown Nashville with it’s honky-tonks, full of Country music history.

What’s All the Hub..Bub? Atlanta – Short Trip, Long Day

Posted by Barry Evans in Chattanooga TN Real Estate

Head South for the day, full of so many things to do in Atlanta.

On the way down, stop in Chamblee-Doraville for an international experience.  Buford Highway is a mecca for Korean, Japanese, Mexican and Chinese people.  The restaurants are authentic, and there are so many of them.  One in particular, Canton House, serves dim-sum, a traditional Chinese cuisine in which small portions of a variety of foods, including an assortment of steamed or fried dumplings, are served in succession which is served from carts that are wheeled about the restaurant.  Don’t forget to visit the International Market on Buford. You’ll see the most unusual items there, and think “how do you cook thing?”   Don’t forget to explore the many pocket neighborhoods in the metro Atlanta area  The competition for good food is a bonus.
