Buying vs. Renting in Today’s Real Estate Market

Posted by Barry Evans in Chattanooga TN Real Estate

Rental properties and homes for sale in Chattanooga provide a great opportunity for those who want to live in this wonderful, vibrant city, and many area residents take advantage of both housing options. However, one of the most common questions that arise regarding the Chattanooga and Tennessee real estate landscape is just how beneficial it is to buy a home rather than rent one.

The question is a good one in today’s real estate market. While buying a house was once lauded as the best choice for people of all backgrounds, the truth is that buying a home is a big investment that takes time, preparation, and careful planning.

                                        Chattanooga Adds New River Market

Downtown Chattanooga will be hosting a Saturday market at Ross’s Landing Plaza, at the aquarium.  Starting June 5th, one can stop by from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to listen to live music and enjoy the artistry of talented vendors.  Also being discussed is the possibility of organizing a produce market during this time as well.

This market is a Saturday public market to showcase Chattanooga’s finest and most successful local artists, craftspeople and local producers.  It will be a complement to the Sunday Farmer’s market at the AT&T pavilion.

What I did this weekend.

Posted by Barry Evans in Chattanooga TN Real Estate

Diane and I celebrated our anniversary this weekend. We had dinner Friday night at Alleia on Main Street. http://alleiarestaurant.com .  It is a beautiful restaurant that made feel like we had gone to Atlanta for the weekend. The décor is a nice blend of industrial and sleek contemporary. Diane had lamb with risotto and peas and I had the gorgonzola fig pizza. We grudgingly shared as it was great and the service was first class. Saturday I got a bike ride in on the River Walk Park before the rain.

Market Trends

Posted by Barry Evans in Chattanooga TN Real Estate

Here in Chattanooga, TN, as we have discussed before, did not experience the run up bubble that many markets did.  And we did not have the big burst either.  Whether you are looking to buy in Hixson, Ooltewah, East Brainerd, East Ridge, Red Bank, etc. it does not matter, the market as a whole is seeing more activity.  Below is a comprehensive report from the National Association of Realtors on recent market trends:

Maintaining Distance When Selling Your TN Home

Posted by Barry Evans in Chattanooga TN Real Estate

Selling a home in Chattanooga or Hixson can be a very personal experience. After all, this is the place you’ve lived for years. Maybe you renovated the interior with your own two hands. Maybe you got married here. Maybe this is even where you raised your kids. No matter what it is that makes your home, well, home, the decision to sell isn’t one that comes lightly to everyone.

The personal attachment we all have to our homes is part of the reason it can be difficult to sell a Tennessee home.

Home mortgage could not be more favorable!

Posted by Barry Evans in Chattanooga TN Real Estate
Whether you are looking for a home in Hixson, East Ridge, East Brainerd or anywhere else in the Chattanooga area, you’ll likely never find interest rates on mortgages more appealing.  With the Federal Reserve continuing to hold down interest rates that banks use when lending to each other and the Federal Government doing what it can to spur home sales, terms for taking a home mortgage could not be more favorable.  Read all about it at this link below:

The Ninth Chattanooga Market has arrived!

Posted by Barry Evans in Chattanooga TN Real Estate

First Tennessee Pavilion in downtown Chattanooga has opened its ninth season of the
Chattanooga Market as of April 25th. This wonderful opportunity to enjoy live music, great food and local produce has been a crowd pleaser every year.

The vendors for this season will offer fresh meats, cheeses and eggs and produce from local and regional farms. And this means F-R-E-S-H.

Arts and crafts, photography, canvas art, sculptures, jewelry, soaps and gourmet foods will be regularly available, along with other visiting interests.

Live music fills the air, with local and other out of area artists coming to entertain every week. Food concessions are also popular and tasty.
