Perfect Day in Chattanooga!
It was the perfect day in Chattanooga. The weather could not have been more perfect. It was sunny without a cloud. The temperature was in the mid 70s with a slight breeze. This was a day that could not be wasted indoors. It was Saturday May 8th, 2010.
Earlier in the week I had seen the storefront on Frazier Avenue for Chattanooga Electric Bikes. http://www.chattanoogaelectricbikes.com They sell, service and rent electric bikes. I called before they opened hoping that they might have two available to rent for my wife and I as an early Mothers Day outting. They not only had the bikes available but we happened to be the first ones to ever to rent the electric bikes since it was the first day for rentals. They could not have been more helpful or friendly. After a brief explanation of the bikes we headed across the Walnut Street bridge and to the Hunter Museum connection to the River Walk Park. We headed north toward the Chickamauga Dam.
The ride was breathtaking and not from the bike ride. That was my first venture north of the Bluff View and it was beautiful. I had no idea all that was up there. We rode through the wetlands, the woods, the park, behind the Boathouse Restaurant and over several bridges. We saw joggers, bikers, geese, families, parties, strollers and lots of boats along the river. We completed our venture with lunch at Rembrandts out by the sidewalk.
We returned the bikes to smiling faces eager to hear that we had a great time.
