Riverbend- 9 day celebration in Chattanooga TN
Spring is here and Chattanooga Tennessee is gearing up for its annual music festival called RIVERBEND. Riverbend is a 9 day celebration located in downtown Chattanooga on the riverfront. There are six stages of world class entertainment ranging from classic rock and jam bands – to country, urban and bluegrass. This year’s performers include: Rob Aldridge, America with the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, Rodney Atkins, Bachman Cummings, The Black Crowes, Blues Nation, The Dismembered Tennesseans, Little Big Town, Josh Turner, ZZ Top
and many many more.
Music is not the only avenue for entertainment. Other activities include: the Habitat House which will be constructed during Riverbend! It is located on Riverfront Parkway between the Unum Stage and the Children’s Village.
The U.S. NAVY will feature a flight Stimulator with a live action ride film adventure “F-18 Carrier Experience.”
The “Marketplace at Riverbend”. This area will feature art, crafts items, and cool merchandise from the creative community.
The Bessie Smith Strut is a free downtown event held on Martin Luther King Boulevard. It includes three stages with Rhythm & Blues, and celebrates the life and achievements of legendary Chattanoogan Bessie Smith. The Strut is celebrated on the first Monday of the festival, and is known as the largest block party in the South.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee is sponsoring, 10K and 5K races, 5K walk and 1-Mile fun run/walks, that begins and ends near the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (gold) Building, 801 Pine Street.
Truly Chattanooga’s Riverbend festival offers fun entertainment for people of all ages. The festival continues to grow each year. Visitors form Chattanooga, Cleveland, Ringold Georgia, and as far away as Canada, have enjoyed the excitement on Chattanooga’s waterfront.
